Laudato Si' Goal #6

In the encyclic Laudato Si', Pope Francis invite us to an ecologic conversion: "Here, I would like to offer Christians a few suggestions for an ecological spirituality grounded in the convictions of our faith, since the teachings of the Gospel have direct consequences for our way of thinking, feeling and living. More than in ideas or concepts as such, I am interested in how such a spirituality can motivate us to a more passionate concern for the protection of our world" (LSG 216).

We must focus on the need for personal, communal and ecclesial conversion to a new lifestyle more attentive to the needs of other people and the planet. We propose a style that is at the root of Jesus' message and life.

Change your habits

Watch this video of Pope Francis, calculate your ecological footprint and find the activity in your day-to-day life that contributes most to that footprint. Compare it to that of a citizen of another country. Think about it and propose what you can change.

Join the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation in your diocese. Get information from your Diocesan Caritas, or from the Diocesan Commission of Integral Ecology if it exists, and if the WDPCC has not been convoked, promote it from your entity or parish.
